In reply to Holly. Hi Holly, does sound like a difficult problem there. Shutting itself down suggests the hardware was okay up until that point at least. Not restarting after trying all those things does suggest a hardware problem though, so somewhat conflicting. Hard to know with the Surface Laptop as yet. When all options are exhausted, do try to have a Microsoft Surface support tech person look at it. Good luck.
